Holger Kehne of Plasma Studio will lecture on Mar. 4th at the University of Tokyo.

Holger Kehne studied architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Muenster, Germany and at the University of East London. He is a former Unit Master of Diploma School at the Architectural Association in London, Guest Professor for design, MArch2 programme at the University of Hong Kong, and Honorary Professor at Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology in China.

3月4日にプラズマスタジオのホルガー＝ケーン氏によるレクチャーが行われます。

ホルガー＝ケーン氏はドイツのミュンスター応用科学大学で建築を学ばれ、その後AAスクールではディプロマのユニットマスター、香港大学大学院では客員教授、西安大学では名誉教授として教鞭を執るわれてきました。

Achim Menges will lecture on Feb. 15 at the University of Tokyo.

Achim will discuss his research work which focuses on the development of integral design processes at the intersection of morphogenetic design computation, biomimetic engineering and computer aided manufacturing that enables a highly articulated, performative built environment. His work is based on an interdisciplinary approach in collaboration with structural engineers, computer scientists, material scientists and biologists.

Achim Menges has been Visiting Professor in Architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (2009-10), at the AA School of Architecture in London (2009-current) and at Rice University in Houston (2004).

2月15日にアキーム＝ミンゲス氏によるレクチャーが行われます。

ミンゲス氏には自身の研究の中心である、コンピュテーションを用いた形態生成や、生物学から影響された構造システム、またデジタル技術を用いて、生産能力と高めた全く新しいファブリケーションプロセスについてお話していただきます。構造や情報工学、材料科学や生物学など、様々な分野とのコラボレーションから数々の作品を作られています。

ミンゲス氏は2009年から2010年までハーバード大学大学院で、2004年にはライス大学で客員教授を勤められ、2009年からはAAスクールでも教鞭を執るわれています。

Yoshio Futagawa lectured yesterday at the University of Tokyo.

As the photographer and editor of the publications GA Document and GA Houses, Yoshio Futagawa has been working with architects around the world to established the media for architecture.

Mr Futagawa talked about GA’s interest on Architecture today, showing us the recent projects that he was inspired.

昨日、東京大学で二川由夫氏のレクチャーが行われました。

GA DocumentやGA Houses等の編集に関わってこられた二川氏は世界中の建築家と関わりながら、建築のメディアの発展に努めてこられました。

ここ数年の間に興味を持たれた作品を紹介しながら、ＧＡの視点についてお話していただきました。

Two renowned structural engineers, Guy Nordenson and Mutsuro Sasaki gave a lecture at the University of Tokyo this week. Both of them are well known for collaborations with architects such as Toyo Ito, SANAA, Yoshio Taniguchi, and Steven Holl.

Guy Nordenson, who has his practice in NY has worked on the most recent expansion of MoMA, which was designed by Yoshio Taniguchi. He also worked with Steven Holl on major projects in the US and China. Mutsuro Sasaki has been working closely with many Japanese architects on important projects, such as the Sendai Mediatheque (Toyo Ito), the Rolex Learning Center (SANAA), and the Florence Train Station Competition (Arata Isozaki).

Mr. Nordenson and  Mr. Sasaki talked about their recent projects and collaborations with architects.

今週、ギー＝ノーデンソン氏と佐々木睦郎氏の二人の構造建築家によるレクチャーが東京大学で行われました。

ギー＝ノーデンソン氏はニューヨークに自身の事務所を構え、谷口吉生氏のニューヨーク現代美術館の増築に構造建築家として関わられ、スティーブン＝ホール氏の米国や中国での主要なプロジェクトにも携わってこられました。佐々木睦郎氏は、せんだいメディアテーク、ローレックスラーニングセンター、フィレンツェ駅コンペ等、これまで多くの日本人建築家と重要なプロジェクトに関わってこられました。

世界的に活躍されている構造建築家のお二人には、近年の作品の紹介と合わせ、建築家とのコラボレーションに対する考えについてお話して頂きました。
